Our program is a clinically oriented program. We therefore usually always recommend clinical evaluation or treatment. Toward that end we utilize clinicians who specialize in evaluation and treatment of medical professionals to assist with these needs. Choosing the proper evaluation or treatment program for the professional is vital.
For these reasons and others the Alabama Professionals Health Program maintains a list of authorized programs which are used for evaluations and for treatment when required. These programs understand all the issues and have a record of success and experience in the evaluation and treatment of health professionals. Furthermore, they have agreed to provide a list of services and have been evaluated themselves to meet certain criteria which are important. Among these criteria are that if an evaluation is performed on a professional, the program understands that the professional has the right to another opinion and/or treatment at another APHP approved facility. This list is very fluid as conditions and resources at facilities change rapidly.
