APHP CONTINUED MONITORING PROGRAM
The Continued Monitoring Program is offered to participants who have maintained compliance and shown that they have the tools necessary to maintain good sobriety, good mental health, or good communications skills as the case may be, with less oversight at the end of their five year monitoring program. There are only two requirements of Continued Monitoring, one is to get four drug screens per year (one per quarter) when called upon to do so by the APHP staff. You no longer are required to check-in and you no longer are required to do quarterly reports. The second requirement is just that you let us know ahead of time if you will be unable to test if contacted, due to being on vacation, out of the country for any reason, working a 12 hour shift from which you cannot leave, etc.
The agreement you sign when entering into the Continued Monitoring Program is called a "Continued Assistance Agreement". This agreement does require that you maintain abstinence from all mood-altering drugs and alcohol, but that is essentially the only requirement. And by continuing to participate in the program, the APHP can continue to advocate for you with credentialing companies, malpractice companies or anyone for which you sign a release of information.
It is also very helpful for any professional who may have a bad outcome with a patient. You can login to our third-party website (currently Spectrum360/Affinity) and schedule a self-test if you fear that someone who knows your history may question your recovery.
There are many advantages to maintaining a relationship with the APHP, but the biggest one is Peace of Mind.
