Sandy Frazier, MD Medical Director, Alabama Physician Health Program Professional Development Office - UAB Dr. Frazier has been nationally certified in Addiction Medicine since 1991 and is currently a Fellow in the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). She founded the Addiction Recovery Program in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1994. As part of this program she has worked with many health-care professionals with substance use disorders and became interested in professional health and well-being. Dr. Frazier was promoted to Assistant Dean of Professional Development at UAB in 2011 and has expanded her services to include conflict management and assessing dysfunctional teams. She joined the AL Professionals Wellness Committee in 2006 to promote health and recovery for Alabama Health Professionals, and was named Medical Director in 2018.
Robert Hunt, D.Min., M.Ed., AADC, CCDP-D, AASAM, NCC, LPC-S Director email: rhunt@alabamaphp.org Dr. Hunt has over 20 years experience working with individuals suffering from psychiatric and substance abuse disorders. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and has served as Director and Clinical Coordinator for two Inpatient Treatment Facilities. He joined the APHP staff in 2012.
Fay McDonnell Case Manager email:fmcdonnell@alabamaphp.org Fay has more than fifteen years working with the health professionals involved with the Alabama Professionals Health Program. She helped to set up the third -party administrator currently used to monitor physicians back in 2007. She oversees all of the day-to-day operations of the office and assists Director Hunt in the monitoring of the more than 260 professionals.
Christy Weihe, MSM Program Operations Manager email: cweihe@alabamaphp.org Christy is a graduate from Troy University and received her Masters in Management Leadership. She has worked with the APHP for two years and is able to assist in any capacity necessary. She is a great asset to the APHP.
Kaitlyn Wilson, BA Program Coordinator email: kwilson@alabamaphp.org Kat recently joined the APHP staff and is a graduate of Lipscomb University with her Bachelors in Theology & Ministry. She is currently working towards her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. We are excited to have her join our team as our Program Coordinator.
